Adapting Cowboy Bebop into a live-action series was a bold creative undertaking—and one of the more visually adventurous productions we’ve been part of.
Filmed in Auckland, the show called for a huge variety of background talent to help shape its stylized sci-fi world. From futuristic marketplaces to gritty spaceports, every scene needed a mix of faces and characters that felt fresh, distinctive, and just a little bit otherworldly.
We had a lot of fun sourcing the right look and energy—from unique character types and striking fashion to action-ready performers who could step into a world of bounty hunters, crime syndicates, and interplanetary life.
Our team coordinated and managed thousands of bookings across multiple locations and unit setups, helping to build out the bold and eclectic atmosphere that Cowboy Bebop is known for.
The Result: A visually rich and immersive world where every background artist contributed to honouring the original anime’s legacy while creating a fresh, live-action experience that captivates viewers.
