When Disney embarked on recreating Mulan as a live-action masterpiece, they needed a casting team who could deliver both scale and precision.
Our role was to cast and manage over 5,000 background performers — from fierce battlefield scenes to intimate village moments and everything in between. The scale was immense, with long days, early starts, and even the occasional surprise snowfall. But despite the challenges, the energy on set remained high — a true testament to the performer’s dedication and the incredible people we were lucky enough to work with.
What made this one even more special? It was led by powerhouse women across the board — from the director and DOP to the 1st AD. Our own all-female casting team felt right at home on a set where collaboration, professionalism, and creative excellence came from every corner.
The Result: A visually stunning film enriched with authentic background talent that brought depth and realism to every scene. From grand battle sequences to intimate cultural moments, each background artist played a vital role in immersing the audience in the story of Mulan.
